New-Spelling Ace PRO - SA309

I purchase one of these for my son after reading all of the great reviews. He loved it, but it stopped working after one week. You could only see the letters if you held the checker at a certain angle, otherwise you could only see rectangles where the letters should be. We returned it for a replacement and the same thing happened the second day we used it. This is for the model SA-209. I don't know if it is a quirk with this model or not. We may try our luck with a different model as it was very helpful on the few days that we could use it.

The Franklin SA-209 Desktop Spelling Ace was delivered in good condition and on time. After using for a couple of weeks, I find it is not as comprehensive as I thought it would be. It is limited in what it can do. It's ok, but not what I was expecting.

for the price I thought that they would have put a battery in it - to make it easier = otherwise it is a good product - perhaps the manufacturer shoulld not be so frugal - it would have been a nice gesture to have a battery in it

I finally had to buy a new speller, the one I had was15yrs old, my wife says try to get one with bigger letters on it, well looking at word spellers, I found a few, which one to buy, let me see. We had our Franklin for 15yrs, lets go with another one. Plus this model has the larger buttons { yes we are over 65 yrs old}, and this feature alone is great. The screen is also large, and it has a nice clear attached cover to protect the unit. My wife said I made a great choice buying the Franklin SA309. Oh yes, the price was excellent and we did get our monies worth. A great product at a greater price. Enjoy !!

Please do not waste your money on this item, what I received was used, it had writing on the back, the batteries were installed and had leaked inside, it took me ten minutes to clean and remove them, after installing new batteries, it would not work.

great little tool. I've used it many times when those simple words just didn't look right & with options it solves the tough ones too. I'm sure there are others with more features but this one did me just fine..

The delete, enter and clear buttons are easy to hit in error (when you want 'enter' hit 'clear').Otherwise what I expected. I particularly like that it uses standard batteries. I hope future product will have an expanded dictionary.

I have no idea if this is a good product or not. It did not come with batteries and I am busy and I keep forgetting to buy them when I am out, so I have never used it. For the price it should have come with batteries. That alone makes me disappointed in the product. Most calculators come with batteries or they are solar powered-why not this?
